Resolved Question: Radiator question on an old chevy?

My car 63 Chevrolet impala has been acting up lately. When I fire it up after about a minute it starts smelling real bad like antifreeze. I've already replaced all hoses and clamps. Any ideas? Also I know this is a stupid question but better I ask it than be sorry later; upon starting up a car is the antifreeze in the radiator supposed to start circulating or is that only when warm?
